INTRODUCTION

1. Approaches to self managed learning

Self managed learning is the mode of learning in which the people applies different techniques of learning new things which they do not know. I am also preparing myself for managing the learning new things with the support of my teachers, family members, friends and colleagues. The whole responsibility to get some output from the training given in professional learning. I am following the Learning cycle given by Kolb's Experimental learning cycle and Honey & Mumford (1992) for my learning training. Self managed learning practice is helping me in identifying my needs, developing my views on learning (Gijselaers, 2013). The environment in which the learning is provided is supporting and with full of energy and enthusiasm.

As per the self learning theory given by Mike Peckham the learning has different meaning for different people. People use their experiences and apply the things differently and no one can be forced to learn, it is a self motivated process.

As per Kolb's Experimental learning cycle there are four phases in a learning cycle which I am going to apply in my learning sessions. Out of which the first is “Concrete experience” that relates to feeling to do something and gaining experience and being involved in an activity will involve in my learning program my experience on the topic while studied in the class room and the knowledge gained by my teachers during the professional training sessions (Jogulu, 2010). Lifelong learning is one of the most crucial and significant part of the development process of an individual. It is the process which encourage a person to cultivate the interest of continuous learning or grabbing opportunities to learning new things. In order to enhance my professional development within the competitive world I will efficiently adopt lifelong learning process for my personal and professional development which will helps me to attain wide prospects of growth and success. This measure will help me in enhancing my employability skills as well (McLaughlin and Vuuren, 2012). In order to encourage lifelong learning I will efficiently focus of the learning cycle.

I will effectively read books and newspaper in order to keep myself updated with the latest happening around the world. Moreover reading books will help me in brushing up my theories and concepts regarding various topics for example marketing, human resources management etc. Apart from this I will develop a habit of analyzing and industry growth and professional factors which helps the business and people to grow within the competition. I will try to develop and cultivate my skills to enhance my competitiveness within the market (Charleson, 2012). Taking regular and timely feedback from industry experts and experienced person may prove to be yet another effective measures for enhancing my professional growth.

Self managed learning is one of the most significant part for enhancing the knowledge and success of an individual. By adopting the self managed learning I will effectively create wide impact on the growth prospects of my own career and employability. It will helps in brushing up my theoretical concepts which will make me confident and competitive as well (Duignan, 2007). It will be easy for me to understand the theories and concepts of various terms and strategies as well. I will be able to present my self in an efficient manner as better and effective knowledge of the subject enhance the presentability of the person. Apart from this self managed learning is a well appreciated quality by the companies as well. This strategy will helps me in enhancing my employment opportunities. The companies will to employ me will be able to save their training cost and time as well.

Opinions obtained from my teachers and friends and fellow participants, I will collect the knowledge gained and will articulate the reflections in a proper way that will help me to use the same in future as well. Our own reflection alone about the learning is not sufficient to promote learning and professional development (Hughes and Youngson, 2009). The third life cycle product is “Abstract Conceptualization” which says that the plan for future learning can be based on the experiences gained in current learning sessions which can be obtained by reading literature, books, theories and being present at the staff development and other activities. The last life cycle stage is “Active Experimentation” which includes making plans to try and apply whatever we have learned in the professional training and development programs. As per Honey and Mumford life styles learners including my topology is linked with Activist who prefer doing and experiencing, reflector who observes and reflects, theorist who wants to understand and underline the reasons, concepts and relationships and last the pragmatists likes to have a go and try to do things to see if they work or not.

I am giving three ratings to reading skills because of I can read easily and understand meaning of that lines. I am able to use the skills of IT at some extend of technology so I rate it three points (Wallace, 2010). I am giving two rating to my writing skills because I am not sufficient competent to use this skill. Presentation is necessary in order to make aware about knowledge and I am able to show other how they can present themselves so four points for this skill.

I consider many skills which is important for my future career and rate them according analyses myself. I feel that my communication skill is good and I can use it in best ways. I am familiar with Time management and I can manage my time effectively. I am having less awareness about operation of the business so rate it with two points. Leadership skill is my another quality in which I can manage people as team leader so I give rating of four points.

I am quick decision maker and it is need of today's business world so it will help in taking better decisions for my business. Good communication and leadership quality help me in better handling of team members and help in guide them in better ways. These will help my organisation in gaining growth. For monitor and evaluate my technical knowledge about work after a fixed time period, I would set some parameters by which I come to know about increase in particular field. I also ask my team leader or teacher to rate my performance as compare to previous one. I will divide my work in different parts and then set time period for achieving them and evaluate my work after some time so that actual position can identify. I can monitor my writing practices by checking it from journalist or expert. I can also take suggestions from them in order effective writing. I can evaluate my writing skill by getting feedback form friends or relatives (Day, Kington and Sammons, 2006). For monitor my verbal communication skill I can speak with person who professional speaker. I can evaluate communication by taking reviews and feedback of experts and friends.

As I set my objectives previously and target to attain them in time of six month but some of them require more time. As compare to decided target only 80% of them are achieve because of less time and prefer resources are not reliable. So, I decide to change monitoring and controlling style for achieve them with in time period affectively and for identification of sources I will make new personal development programme.
