Sometimes in our lives, we come across something that is beyond our understanding, and as we don’t seem to comprehend, we call them miracles. The biggest mystery in this universe is death, and if something unexpected happens which disturbs the usual pattern of it, then it eventually gets added to the list of miracles. But, do they really happen? In the times, when science has the explanation of almost everything, it’s a little illogical to think that there is also something that is beyond the threshold of science. But there are instances when even science surrenders, and we are left bereft of any logical explanation. Medical science is full of such instances. And, it can be an excellent topic for an interesting dissertation. To spice up your interest further, our academic writing professionals who provide nursing dissertation help along with other subjects have recollected five instances where even the doctors were left speechless. Have a look:
The Cancer Curing Church
Greg Thomas lying on the steps of the church was trying to think about what he wanted to do in the last few days of his life. He was suffering from cancer and doctors had advised his family to prepare for his funeral. There was no hope left for the 56-year-old. So, he decided to repair the church he was coming to for years. And, by doing so, he wanted to give something back to the lord before he left this world. So, he approached the church’s association with a deal that he would repair the whole building in exchange for a key to the front door that would allow him to come and worship anytime he wanted to. His condition was accepted, and he started repairing the church. But little did he know that he was not just repairing the church, he was repairing himself. With each passing day, his tumors started shrinking, and he felt stronger. His doctors advised him to continue doing what he was doing. After four years and 23 days, Greg’s feeding tube was removed and had solid food again. His tumors disappeared, and he was healthy again. The church also returned to its former glory because of his hard work. When even medical science surrendered to the disease, a miracle kept Greg alive.
A 12-year-Old Warrior
How would you motivate a 12-year-old girl who is soon to be dead? It can be done by saying “Fight like a girl” to her. It might not work for everyone but it surely did for Hardig’s parents who were hoping against hopes to save her. Hardig was suffering from primary amoebic meningoencephalitis, which is a condition in which brain-eating amoeba feasts on the brain tissue. This disease was so fatal that, before her case, only two people in North America had survived. Doctors even told her parents that she might not be alive after 45 hours. But, they still gave their everything trying to at least delay the inevitable as much they can. Hardig was put into a medically induced coma to reduce the brain swelling. They pumped her body with antifungals and antibiotics along with an approved German drug they received from CDC. She was hooked up to a ventilator and kept on dialysis as her kidneys also failed. But, what happened was least expected even from the doctors, Hardig’s brain swelling stabilized and her sedation was decreased. Still, doctors were unsure about would she be the same but she gave a thumbs up which was enough indication that she was still in there. For the next eight weeks, she learned basic functions like swallowing, but she survived and became the only third person to do so. After her surgery that German drug was given to a boy suffering from the same disease, but he died. More than the drug, it was a miracle that saved the 12-year-old fighter.
Back From the Dead
If someone claims that he is back from the dead, then either he is considered a fool. But Ruby Grauprera Cassimiro can not only do but also has some serious backing to her story. After having a normal c-section to give birth to a baby girl, she went into a full cardiac arrest. She was intubated, and doctors started giving advanced cardiac life support. Her heart was beating but not pumping any blood. She was given CPR compressions for forty-five minutes straight to get her heart working again. After countless efforts for two hours, doctors lost hope and brought her family into the room to say goodbye. After her family went back to the waiting room, doctors were ready to call her time of death. But, it wasn’t meant to be, her heart started beating on its own without any CPR or medicine. It was discovered that she suffered from amniotic fluid embolism which causes an air block in the heart and prevents blood from flowing. But, even her doctors couldn’t explain what happened to the amniotic debris. The next day, her breathing tube was removed, and four days later, she left the hospital with her newborn daughter Taila. She not only survived but is in pink of health. So, when medical science declared Ruby dead, it was not wrong, but it didn’t expect a miracle to happen which brought her back from the dead.
Whatever has been mentioned above doesn’t happen often, but when they do, it changes our perceptive of seeing things. And, they also strengthen our belief in the fact that something is beyond our comprehension. It's not science; it's not anything else, it can only be called miracles. And, they do happen.
